Design
Welcome to our future!:
In presenting the following drawings, we would like to
express our thanks to Architect Ben Taylor (AIA) and Project
Manager Michael Sutton (AIA), both of
Integrated Design, PA of
Raleigh, NC. Our design team has done a wonderful job
maintaining the architectural integrity of our existing church
sanctuary (the first brick church in Currituck County) and
integrating it with the new facility in an organic and
aesthetically pleasing manner.
Perspective:
The Sanctuary (right) could easily be dwarfed by the much
larger addition, however, through the use of a mansard roof
design, with a short bell tower element and cloister and
decorative brick elements, the designers have carried the
essential distinctiveness of the 77 year old church into the new
construction.

Front Elevation:

Floor Plan (Master):
New construction is can be seen in the darker exterior wall
elements and include the area from the restroom doors forward.
Total Square footage of the project is 7622 ft2
including 5133 ft2 of new construction (Restrooms,
Social Hall, Kitchen and Ministry Center) and 1839 ft2
of renovation work, adding 2 classrooms in the old social hall,
a modern nursery in the present kitchen space, and a new
classroom in the space occupied by the current restrooms.
Generous closet and storage space will be provided in key areas.

Floor Plan (Ministry Center & Kitchen):
Note: The following sections are not to scale with each other
The new food pantry will feature first-floor access, a
waiting area, and adequate shelving, freezer space, and
administrative space for this important ministry in our
community.
The Office will be made available for private counseling,
possible shared Sunday School space and will enable the
establishment of a Pastoral Counseling Center, a first for
Currituck County.
Our new kitchen will feature
- 2 dual fuel ranges with convection ovens,
- a pair of double sinks,
- up to three refrigerator/freezer units,
- two center islands for food preparation and serving
- and a high speed commercial dishwasher.
The Social Hall will be light and open and will include
adequate arrangements for amplification and video projection,
and portable staging. Note that the dividing wall
has been removed from the Pantry Closet 105:

Floor Plan (Renovations):
Renovations will include four new classrooms, including a
modern nursery, and adequate storage space.
New Restrooms will be fully wheelchair accessible and will
include diaper changing stations in each. Note that
we have added a restroom in classroom 125 and exterior doors in
112, 114, and 125 in these revised plans:

Future phases will include expanded worship space, additional
Sunday School rooms, office space and a proposed Day Care
Center.
